ABS Consulting Appoints Director for Renewable Energy, Europe
Torsten Muuss has been appointed Director of Renewable Energy for ABS Consulting and will lead the organization's Renewable Energy Operations in Europe, effective September 1, 2010.
Muuss's responsibilities also include aligning ABS Consulting's global services in accordance with technical requirements of the wind energy industry. He has been involved with the wind business for nearly 13 years, including working for wind turbine manufacturers and with certification bodies.
His experience includes serving as leader of an inspection department and being responsible for examination of machinery components, safety, operation systems, and condition monitoring systems. His most recent role was as a Global Technical Manager and Competence Centre Manager for Renewable Energy. He also worked in the development of wind turbines at Vestas and DeWind.
"With this appointment, we are confident that the ABS Consulting Renewable Energy and Wind Energy footprint in Europe will be significantly strengthened as well as our global Condition Monitoring and Reliability Centered Maintenance Services for wind turbines and wind farms," said Jan Behrendt Ibsoe, Vice President, Renewable Energy for ABS Consulting.

The 2010 International Applied Reliability Symposium – North America will be held on June 15-17, 2010, in Reno, Nevada. James K. Liming of ABS Consulting will present Reliability Analysis in Risk-Informed Performance-Based Asset Management Applications during Track 1, Session 9 on June 16, 2010.
The International Applied Reliability Symposium events provide a forum for expert presenters from industry and government to come together with reliability practitioners from all over the world to discuss the application of reliability principles to meet real-world challenges.
