Ship Security Officer Training

The Course

This course qualifies participants as trained Ship Security Officers (SSO). The International Maritime Organization's International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code imposed requirements for maritime security on certain vessels and port/waterfront facilities that interface with such vessels. This course addresses these ISPS standards and is also approved by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), an executive agency of the UK Department for Transport.

Who Should Attend?

All persons designated as an SSO. This course will certify SSOs in accordance with the UK MCA requirements. This course is ideal for any personnel who are to be appointed as a SSO or need a refresher course for an SSO. No prior security experience is needed.

This course can be presented on-site to address your specific needs.

This course can be customized to meet your specific needs and presented at your location. Modifications to emphasize the needs of ships personnel can be accomplished, along with incorporating your policies and procedures into the course. When customized, adequate information is presented to allow ship’s personnel to (1) understand the applicable security issues and (2) have an appreciation of the maritime security requirements applicable to their counterparts in other sectors of the industry.
