Mr. SaFreitas is employed by ABS Consulting, a leading independent global provider of risk management services that combines industry experts, risk modeling, practical engineering and technology based solutions. He is currently the Manager of Risk Performance Improvement and his 15-year career with the ABS Group of Companies includes international and domestic professional experience as manager, auditor, consultant and trainer for management systems.
Mr. SaFreitas has managed and conducted third-party certification audits of quality, environmental and social responsibility management systems. More recently, he has conducted organizational safety culture assessments and process safety reviews for companies in the oil & gas and petrochemical industries. He has a degree in electronics engineering and he received a master's degree in computer and systems engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Prior to joining ABS in 1993, he worked as an operational research analyst for the Brazilian Navy, as systems analyst for the naval projects department of PETROBRAS' research center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and as programmer/analyst for Bonner & Moore, a computerized maintenance management systems consulting company.
