Mark Whitney is a Technical Director for ABS Consulting's Explosion Hazards Technology Center. Mr. Whitney's career has focused on the prediction of explosion effects and the design of protective structures. He has evaluated and deigned facilities for compliance with explosion safety siting standards. Applications have included industrial and government situations where hazardous chemicals, energetic materials, or explosives are handled. He has performed explosion accident investigations, including field surveys of blast-damaged buildings and blast simulations to support the root cause investigation. Mr. Whitney has designed hardened control buildings and various other civil structures at chemical plants and government installations. He has performed as manager of explosion test programs to assess the performance of hardened construction under blast and fragment loading environments.
