Identifying Consequences
With RootCause LEADER, not only
can you assign consequence quantities to each study, you
can also assign an unlimited number of consequence categories.
For example, you can create categories for equipment damage,
public casualty, employee casualty, business losses, liability,
etc. In addition, you can differentiate between actual and
potential consequences — essential when documenting the risk
of minor losses or near misses.

Using ABS Consulting's RootCause Map™
This feature helps you identify the root causes of every
causal factor. Typical issues and examples from ABS Consulting's
Root Cause Analysis Handbook are included in the software
for each root cause.

Attaching Photo Files and Other Documents
You can store your fault trees, causal factor charts, area
maps or pictures within the RootCause LEADER database.

Tracking Recommendations
Ultimately, you not only want to find root causes — you
want to fix them. RootCause LEADER helps
you do so by simplifying (1) creation of recommendations, (2) documentation
of the resolution of a recommendation, (3) assignment of personnel to resolve
the recommendation and (4) tracking and querying the progress of the recommendation
to completion.

RootCause LEADER uses the powerful
analysis and charting features of Microsoft® Excel for
a quick, convenient means to identify all recurring events
and root causes. You can perform queries and trends by location,
potential consequences, actual consequences, root causes
and many other parameters. In addition, you can include or
exclude certain data to help pinpoint the problems to focus
on for maximum return on your effort.
