ABS Consulting Certifies RTM STAR Center to SIGTTO LNG Standards

Houston, TX – ABS Consulting certified RTM STAR Center's Tankship Liquefied Gases course as meeting all of the requirements of the Society of International Gas Tanker & Terminal Operators, Ltd. (SIGTTO), LNG Shipping Suggested Competency Standards.
ABS Consulting’s certification process included a gap analysis and in-depth review of all student and instructor training materials followed by an onsite audit by a team of ABS Consulting auditors and LNG experts.
RTM STAR Center is the first training organization in the US, and one of only eight organizations in the world, accredited or certified as meeting the SIGTTO standards. RTM STAR Center, with locations in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Toledo, Ohio, is recognized internationally as a premier maritime training and simulation center, and is the primary training provider to American Maritime Officers (AMO) union members.
"ABS Consulting provides certification of training programs for training providers to verify content quality and delivery of training within the industry," says Thomas M. "The certification confirms that the course material has been properly designed, contains clear learning points, is carried out by qualified trainers and is assessed to current industry standards."
In addition to ABS Consulting's SIGTTO certification, RTM STAR Center's Tankship Liquefied Gases Course is approved by the USCG and meets the requirements of 46 CFR part 13 for all Tankerman endorsements including Person in Charge (Liquefied Gases) and Section A-V/1,1-7 and 22-34 of the STCW code.
During the North America Summit LNG Conference in Houston, Texas, this past June, Thomas M. Nolan, Vice President – Marine Services, ABS Consulting, presented the certificate to RTM STAR Center.
