Appointment Broadens Renewable Energy Services Offered by ABS Consulting

Dr. Jan Behrendt Ibsoe Brings Extensive Experience in Wind and Renewable Energy Sector

Houston, TX — In an important strategic move to further strengthen its market activities in the Renewable Energy sector, ABS Consulting is pleased to announce the appointment of Jan Behrendt Ibsoe, PhD, as Vice President, Renewable Energy Services. Dr. Ibsoe will head the operation from ABS Consulting headquarters in Houston beginning January 2010.

"With more than 15 years of experience in the Wind Energy and Renewable Energy sector, and having held senior management positions in this industry for the past 10 years, we believe that Dr. Jan Behrendt Ibsoe is the right choice to lead this global area for ABS Consulting," said Tony Nassif, President and Chief Executive Officer, ABS Group of Companies.

The primary focus for ABS Consulting in the Renewable Energy sector is on the Wind Energy market, where the company will provide life cycle services for wind energy assets with a particular focus on consultancy services and condition monitoring as well as quality management for operational wind farms. Focus areas will include specific markets such as the US, China and South America as well as the global offshore wind energy market.

Dr. Ibsoe graduated with a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1990 and a PhD in Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics Analyses of Offshore Welded Structures in 1994, both from the Technical University of Denmark. Since 2006, he has served as Global Director of Renewable Energy — Wind, Solar & Biomass at SGS Industrial in Germany and was a member of that organization's Global Management Team. Prior to that, Dr. Ibsoe worked for Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and COWI Consulting Engineers.

During the last 13 years, Dr. Ibsoe has served in various management positions. In addition to his experience in the wind and renewable energy fields, he worked within the offshore oil and gas and construction sectors. His career has taken him to Germany, Norway and Denmark as well as Japan. Throughout his career, Dr. Ibsoe has established strong business relationships and networks within the global wind industry.
