Objectives
- For students who are very familiar with PRA and the use of the RISKMAN® software
- Emphasis on some advanced topics (multi-branch top event, BDD, etc.) and the use of RISKMAN® in addressing those topics
- Introduction to seismic analysis and the use of the Fragility Module in RISKMAN®
- Introduction to the manipulation of internal files
Course Contents
- Data Analysis:
- Introduction to Common Cause failure analysis; how to estimate MGL and Alpha Factor parameters from raw event data
- System Analysis:
- System failure initiator
- Component database
- Modeling of different system configurations
- Conditional split fractions
- Multi-states top event
- Binary Decision Diagrams (BDDs)
- Event Sequence Analysis
- Defining Conditional Split Fraction (CSF) groups
- Split fraction logic rules for multi-state top events
- Binning rules and editing of bin information
- Use of sequence groups, including weighting features
- Uncertainty Analysis case creations
- Reports and interpretation of results – especially new reports
- Fragility Module
- Input and output data
- Point estimate versus Monte Carlo Fragility cases
- Good practices and interpretation of results for risk-informed application evaluation.
- File information. For example, types of files written when MFF is created and when sequences are quantified. Also, the structure and use of the Riskman.MDB file.
