Verification Services
 Third-Party Inspection Services
ABS Consulting offers third-party inspection services and has various registrations with internationally recognized entities, governments, trade associations and professional societies. In providing this service, ABS Consulting deliverables reflect statement of fact reporting that is unbiased and confirms verification and inspection services to one or more internationally recognized codes, standards, design specifications and specific technical project requirements. These services are provided to a cross section of industries including petrochemical, construction, industrial, manufacturing, mining, pipeline and power generation.
Expediting Services
ABS Consulting offers expediting services covering many phases of construction and production and provides periodic status reports tailored to meet a specific client’s needs. ABS Consulting’s deliverables typically include a report of activity, which provides the anticipated dates of delivery or completion.
Source/Procurement Inspection Services
ABS Consulting offers source inspection services at supplier and vendor sites for manufacturers, owners, etc., to verify that the equipment or goods have been manufactured in accordance with a client’s specifications and any applicable quality system requirements. Source inspections are tailored to meet a specific need and may include:
- Review of material test reports
- Witnessing mechanical tests
- Review of weld procedure specifications and procedure qualifications
- Witnessing welder’s performance qualifications
- Examination of edge preparation, fit-up and dimensional attributes
- Witnessing NDE and performing visual examinations
- Witnessing factory acceptance tests
- Witnessing hydrostatic and performance tests
- Inspecting coatings
- Verification of quantities shipped, including proper packing and identification marking
Upon completion of the source inspection, ABS Consulting issues a report of activity. A release note may also be provided if specified by a client.
Owner's Representation Services
ABS Consulting offers owner’s representation services on behalf of an owner to confirm compliance with specific mechanical, structural, electrical and test requirements for any given project. These services are provided on a full time or periodic monitoring basis locally, and contractors work throughout the world during construction, sea-fastening, delivery, start-up and commissioning. The deliverables may include a report of activity with project photographs and may also be tailored to meet a client's project requirements and needs.
Certification Services
ABS Consulting offers design review and certification services covering all phases of construction from procurement to commissioning including monitoring and reporting as to materials, welding, fabrication, machining, erection, coatings, shop assembly and testing, sea-fastening, witnessing endurance testing, monitoring start-up and commissioning and reporting of non-conformances found during all phases of the project. ABS Consulting will issue a design review letter with engineering comments including periodic narrative reporting. Upon satisfactory completion of a given project, ABS Consulting will issue a Certificate or Letter of Consent reflecting the specific scope of work and any conditions associated with certification that were identified during design, construction and testing.
Condition Assessment Services
ABS Consulting offers condition assessments of existing equipment and comprehensive reporting. Activities include technical reviews of available inspection, maintenance, NDE and material test records associated with any repairs or modifications including operability of the equipment. Upon completion of the work, ABS Consulting will issue a report as to the scope of work and include applicable project photographs.
