Computer-based Training (CBT) Course Development
CBT provides your personnel with the training they need,
when and where they want it. They're no longer tied to the
classroom delivery schedule, and you can afford to train
new employees one at a time because there is no need for
an instructor for the knowledge portions of the training.
ABS
Consulting can design CBT courses that are interactive,
involve the participant, meet your needs, and are interesting
and effective. One example of CBT we completed was a computer-based
module on risk-based decision-making guidelines. The client
wanted new personnel to become familiar with a certain process
and terminology before getting involved in larger projects.
CBT allowed individuals to be trained in different locations
on different schedules. Other applications of CBT include
general orientation and familiarization programs.
Document Control Systems
ABS Consulting can develop and implement an enterprise-wide
data repository for your procedures, manuals, drawings, etc.
We can provide Web-enabled applications that facilitate collaboration
between document authors and reviewers. Our document control
systems organize documents within a logical, hierarchical
data structure, complete with revision histories and extensive
filtering and searching capabilities.
Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Implementation
and Training
ABS Consulting does not market one CMMS. Our maintenance
experts assist clients with populating their CMMSs and train
personnel in the effective use of their CMMSs.

However, our first step
is always to define your needs. We then perform only those
tasks required to address your needs, from simply advising
you on your overall approach, to teaming with your staff
on specific tasks, to completing procedure or training
program development. The following are just a few examples
of how ABS Consulting has provided unique solutions to meet
our customers' needs.

A nuclear fuel services supplier needed assistance with
developing hundreds of procedures and training documents
for engineering, management, and laboratory personnel.
The client had insufficient staff to perform the work and
needed outside expertise. During the course of this large
project, ABS Consulting personnel developed an overall
project management plan, standardized procedure formats,
and validated the procedures and training materials with
the client's personnel.

ABS Consulting teamed with a large chemical processing
organization to perform a job task analysis of some selected
maintenance tasks at one of the organization's smaller
facilities. This project resulted in recommended curriculum
designs for each of these maintenance tasks. The organization
had the resources to do the remainder of the training program
development steps on its own.

A university medical center needed help with developing
job descriptions, procedures, and training materials. ABS
Consulting provided staff augmentation services that allowed
the university to quickly complete this project.
