December 2011

Development is progressing on version 6.2, for both stand-alone and enterprise versions of THESIS. Lots of new features and improvements are planned, if you have any suggestions, mainly relating to usability of THESIS, please get in touch with the THESIS helpdesk: thesis@absconsulting.com

We are happy to announce we have just won the largest THESIS contract in its 16 years history with a major OPCO - this was a competitive tender which we are delighted to have won on pure merit and integrity rather than cost alone which makes it all the sweeter.

November 2011

A very busy month with training courses and installations of THESIS taking place in many parts of the globe - the whole team was out on the road for most of the month.

October 2011

Plans are being put in place for a new version of THESIS to compliment our two current versions to fill an identified gap in the market. Please watch this space for further exciting news.

August 2011

Major installation of THESIS Enterprise for an existing THESIS stand-alone client in the Middle East.

July 2011

We are happy to announce the release of THESIS 6.1 with many new features and improvements.

Sorry to see James Phipps leave the project after 10 years in charge. We wish James all the best in his new role and have every assurance he will continue to be a dedicated THESIS user and advocate.

THESIS 6.0 (first release) deployed.We are progressively contacting all our user base (over the next 1-2 months) to bring them upto date with developments.

THESIS has just been selected by a 5th major operating company in the UAE, firmly establishing itself as the primary BowTie risk management tool in Abu Dhabi.

ABS Consulting are aiming to hosting a one day THESIS workshop in Abu Dhabi during Q1 2011. The intention of the workshop is to provide an update to our existing clients and well as to introduce THESIS to other operating companies. Invitations will be issued shortly, however, if you wish to express an interest early please contact the HelpDesk.

We have just initiated the start of a series of site workshops for a major power generation energy client. Once the generic hazard management bowties have been finalised they will be distributed to the sites via THESIS Enterprise. The cascading and management of generic case files is the primary feature of Enterprise and serves to maintain consistency in the application of safety and integrity standards

Work has been extensive in getting ready for the release of Version 6. In order to fast track this release, a number of development intentions has been pushed back to version 6.1 which will be available in Q1 2011. Version 6.1 will include numerous minor enhancements across the code including LOPA, Excel templates, Ergonomics, Dialogue field adjustments, Graphic engine updates and 'None-BowTie' fields.

Similar efforts are being made to THESIS Enterprise. A version update is planned for January 2011. Work on this release will focus on performance optimisation.

3 Nov 2010

ABS Consulting showcased THESIS at the RenewableUK 2010 conference in Glasgow. This is the first venturing of the THESIS BowTie method into the renewable energy market. We are in the process of follow ups and will report back in the near future on the use of BowTies in this sector, hopefully with an example file.

28 October

ABS Consulting have just completed extensive THESIS and Risk Management training in Chile with representatives of the global mining industry. The training was timely as it immediately followed the well publicised rescue operations which ABS Consulting were proud to play a part in.

4 August

We have just commissioned and delivered Enterprise training to a major operating company in Nigeria. This is the first Enterprise user in Africa and adds to the user base of this version which now has clients in Australia, UAE, Latin America as well as with a European based global operator.

6 April 2010

Apologies for delays in posting! Most of the key heldesk personnel have been on the road running training courses and commissioning of THESIS Enterprise servers for new clients across the Middle East – we're back now.

Version 6.0 continues on the development path, with an expected release in July 2010 – more details in later postings. For those interested in the feature listing or with suggestions for improvement, please contact the helpdesk. For example we have been asked for import functionality from other data sources/legacy packages to be included and this is being addressed.

We have also experienced a number of users asking to be 'resellers.' Historically we have not entertained such, however, given the number of enquiries, we are now willing to consider – please contact the helpdesk.

THESIS 6.0 development scope has been completed and will include the following:

  • Replacement Graphics Engine inc. ability to modify fonts and styles
  • Improved Printing Facilities and options
  • Rolled up patches from Version 5.5 inc. Find/Replace functionality
  • Additional functions for managing and reporting on data.

In response to feedback from users, the primary effort is the focus on improvements to graphics and printing performance. It is expected that a beta version will be available in April 2010.

26 January 2010

The last quarter has resulted in sales to businesses in South America, West Africa and USA. The industries concerned include mining, LNG, and government sector. This also includes sales of THESIS Enterprise – our web based version of THESIS.
