THESIS BowTie™ SOFTWARE
The Case Tree
The Case Tree is used to input information and manage the database. It lists all the Locations within the Case File with the Hazards and Activities listed for each Location. The tree may be expanded or collapsed to show different levels of details within the Case. The tree is read from top to bottom as follows (Click images to for larger view):

The Reference Tree
The Reference Tree is used to set-up or tailor the database to needs of the user. It is essentially a reference library which lists references know as Lookups, which enable quick and consistent population of data during the activity and hazard build process.

The BowTie
The bowtie is a visual representation of the Case Tree; at the center are the Location, Hazard, and Top Event, on the left the Threats, and to the right the Consequences.

Risk Matrix
The matrix portrays risk as the product of probability and consequence, used as the basis for qualitative risk determination.

Reporting Module
This gives access to a number of predefined reports and also to the custom report feature.
Standard Reports – a choice of 49 pre configured reports to cover the majority of queries likely to arise.
Example of a Standard Report
Custom Reporter – the user is able to predefine and pick and chose exactly the data that appears in specific reports. You can then customize the appearance, font style and many other aspects. These can be saved as templates for future use.

Find and Replace
This is a very useful feature enabling the user to quickly and easily find and/or edit all the data contained within the bowtie.

LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis)
This is another unique embedded feature enabling the user to apply this increasingly popular semi-quantitative risk analysis technique.
Fill in the relevant data for each Threat : Consequence pairing:

Then display the results in a quick simple graphic:

Usage Screens
There are a number of useful tracking tools that not only enable the user to monitor many aspects of the bowtie but these also act as a vehicle to enable mass editing of data.
