Customer Support

ABS Consulting is happy to provide advice regarding the use of the THESIS software for particular concerns or issues. Please send an e-mail to the Help Desk and we will contact you. We can often do this via web-meetings which help in visual presentation.

We also offer a service for uploading or manipulating bulk data on behalf of licence users – usually at no charge. With access to the underlying database engine this can sometimes be more efficient, however, within Version 6.0, many more user functions are enabled in this regard.

Where we feel improvements in guidance or functionality can be made these will be added to our development schedule and we really welcome the feedback.

This course is intended for people who are familiar with safety/risk concepts and who simply want a review of how the software works and how it can be used.

As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP)

This course is intended for people who want a more thorough grounding in the THESIS principles and practices.

THESIS Theory and Practice - Extended

A three day workshop which is similar to the 2 day course but additional time and focus is given to the use and deployment of THESIS Enterprise

We like to offer a workshop-style format in which the optimum numbers of trainees is between 6-20.

This course can be customized to meet specific requirements. We tend to deliver training at the clients site/offices, although we do have access to our own training centres in:

Consulting Support

Training and consulting is our core service offering for which we have a wealth of experience. Our recent projects in THESIS range in value from circa $5,000 to $400,000.

In terms of consultation, we often provide staff to support THESIS related work, particularly for the initial set up of the database/HAZID exercises. Once the basic framework is established, it can be handed over for client development and management.

We can estimate duration for this type of analysis, but often it depends on whether the work is for new build or whether it is translation of existing work. It is also highly dependant upon the depth of analysis. We retain a large library of various case file types and can often take lessons from these in respect of the hazard register. This option may save you effort in respect of a THESIS learning curve. In some instances, we have not necessarily provided the software, but have performed THESIS studies and have delivered technical reports containing the bowties and associated responsibility/hazard reports.

Often we have provided THESIS facilitators to support our clients build their model through interactive HAZID type sessions. The knowledge of business is naturally with our customer but the facilitation exercise will often draw out ideas and concepts not previously considered.
