Certification Requirements

Advanced PHA Leader

• Attain PHA Leader Certification
• Attend Course 111 (Advanced PHA Leader) and one additional course - either Course 220 (Quantitative Analysis Techniques), Course 200 (Layer of Protection Analysis) or Course 240 (Facility Siting Hazards Analysis Techniques).
• Pass the fundamentals examination
• Have a college degree and 2 years of experience, or a high school diploma and 5 years of experience

Demonstrate PHA leadership capabilities by submitting documentation from your two most recent PHAs

Advanced Root Cause Analyst/Incident Investigator

• Attain Incident Investigator Certification
• Attend (1) Course 140 and (2) either Course 110 or 220
• Pass the fundamentals examinations for Course 110 or 220
• Have a college degree and 2 years of experience, or a high school diploma and 5 years of experience

Submit documentation from your two most recent investigations

PHA Leader

• Attend Course 110
• Pass the fundamentals examination
• Have a college degree and 2 years of experience, or a high school diploma and 5 years of experience

Recommendations from supervisor and manager/technical representative for your two most recent PHAs (40 hours of leadership, minimum)

PHA Revalidator

• Attend Courses 110 (or the equivalent) and 113
• Pass the fundamentals examinations
• Have a college degree and 2 years of experience, or a high school diploma and 5 years of experience

PSM/RMP Auditor

• Attend either (1) Courses 100 and basic 2-day version of Course 101 or (2) the 3-day version of Course 102
• Pass the fundamentals examination(s)

Recommendations from supervisor and manager/technical representative for your two most recent audits, or documentation from most recent PSM/RMP audit
