As recently as 2008, North American regulators were processing about 40 applications for LNG import terminals in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Investors and energy consultants were touting the decades of expected income those facilities could use to pay for the required investment, and the potential returns to the companies that were willing to invest billions of dollars in import facilities. And the market responded, giving the US and Canada about 10 new import terminals (for a total of 15).

This webinar will also provide information to help participants understand:

  • The shift in the North American LNG market
  • The current activity in approval and operation of export facilities
  • Issues with regulatory responsibilities for export versus import facilities (particularly with floating options)
  • Cost information regarding import conversion versus new export developments (for cases where public data is available)
